The guidebook on schizophrenia emerged from a collaborative effort between people with lived experience, their families, and healthcare professionals at the Psychiatric Hospital of Santa Catarina (IPQ).

Working together, we created a practical resource for newly diagnosed patients that covers essential information: medication guidance, hospital support protocols, outpatient care details, and support group connections. The guide also includes recommendations for media that authentically represents life with schizophrenia.

This initiative aims to both simplify the intake process and contribute to reducing stigma around mental health conditions, with plans to expand the series to cover other diagnoses.
