In 2022, we took a more personal approach to our Pride campaign, focusing on authentic storytelling from within the community. Rather than multiple station designs, we created one unified body sticker complemented by four distinctive top designs, each featuring a community member sharing their journey.
We held an intimate photoshoot at the EVBox office in Sloterdijk with Tália (they/them), Zette (she/her), Erik (he/him) and Finn (he/him). Each participant bravely shared their authentic selves and personal stories, including their vulnerabilities and strengths. Their recorded interviews were later featured across our social media platforms.
This decision to spotlight real stories and experiences made the 2022 campaign our boldest yet, moving beyond symbolic representation to amplify actual voices from the community.

For 2021, we expanded our design collection to 13 stickers, each featuring a different pride flag chosen collaboratively by company employees and the COC.
The campaign took on an educational focus, aiming to highlight the diversity of sexualities and genders. Through social media, we shared definitions and meanings behind each flag, encouraging the public to discover and proudly identify with their own flag through social media engagement and tagging.
Building on our previous campaign's approach, we paired each flag with meaningful quotes and song lyrics, this time emphasising themes of acceptance and pride. The expanded collection allowed us to represent more identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, creating a more inclusive and comprehensive celebration.

For the 2020 campaign, we faced an interesting design challenge: creating harmony between multiple brand identities. Our goal was to represent both Vattenfall and EVBox whilst celebrating the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ flag. The design solution married Vattenfall brand colours with the signature EVBox blue, incorporating the distinctive wavy divider that characterised EVBox visual identity at the time.
Focusing on typography and engagement, the font's bold yet friendly rounded edges offered excellent outdoor legibility. We then researched meaningful Pride-themed quotes and involved the entire company in selecting their favourites through a voting process.
The six winning quotes were thoughtfully paired with corresponding rainbow flag colours, with EVBox brand blue incorporated on the charging station's rear panel.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, we successfully coordinated a small team of employees to apply the designs to the stations. The initiative extended beyond the physical installation, with our HR colleagues delivering inclusivity workshops, hosting virtual social gatherings, and organising an online quiz.
